Hi, I'm Alise
Hello. My name is Alise McAleer. I received my Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling in 2017. I completed my internship within the school system as well as in private practice. My time spent at the school gave me great insight into what young people face every day. I am passionate about children, adolescents, and their families. Many times, young individuals are unable to verbalize their feelings. Play therapy is a gift to your child, that will aid them in communicating and exploring their inner world and emotions. I am also passionate about communicating with families and seeing marriages succeed. I would love to help you navigate any issue you may be facing.
I am a Registered Play therapist through A4PT.org. I utilize sand tray and play therapy with children and adolescents. I have my certification in TraumaPlay and have been trained by Paris Goodyear-Brown. I have a certification in Mindfulness-Cognitive Therapy. I use the Gottman Marriage Counseling curriculum, which is an evidenced based approach to counseling couples. I am in the process of becoming EMDR certified. I also greatly enjoy teaching as an adjunct professor in the field of Psychology and Human Services. Although I draw from the above techniques, I believe that every client is different, as well as their needs, which leads me to adapting multiple theories to most benefit each individual.
I enjoy spending my free time with my children and animals. I am a mom of three (22-year-old twins & a 14-year-old). I love reading books, boating, being with friends and music.
I look forward to meeting you!
